Privacy Policy

RealReveal.com.au is operated for Australian property buyers. This policy explains what we collect and why.

Last updated: 23 June 2026

1. Who we are

RealReveal ("we", "us") runs a buyer-focused property transparency platform at RealReveal.com.au. Contact: hello@realreveal.com.au. Legal and privacy enquiries: legal@realreveal.com.au.

2. Information we collect

  • Account data — when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from your OAuth provider via Supabase Auth. You may set a display name and upload an avatar.
  • Contributions — reviews, flagged issues, photos, inspection checklists, watchlist entries, and agency access requests you submit. You may post anonymously; in that case your identity is hidden from other users but linked to your account internally for moderation.
  • Technical data — server logs, IP addresses (for rate limiting and abuse prevention), browser type, and pages visited.
  • Communications — messages you send via our contact or takedown forms.

3. How we use information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and secure the service (authentication, moderation, notifications).
  • Display crowd-sourced property insights to other buyers.
  • Respond to support, legal, and takedown requests.
  • Prevent spam, abuse, and fraud (including rate limits).
  • Improve the product based on aggregated usage patterns.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

4. Cookies and local storage

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in (Supabase session cookies). We store your theme preference and cookie notice acknowledgement in your browser's local storage. See the cookie notice at the bottom of the site for details.

5. Service providers

We rely on trusted processors, including:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage (hosted infrastructure).
  • Google — OAuth sign-in and Maps services (Street View, interactive maps, geocoding) when configured.
  • Resend — optional email delivery for contact and legal notifications.
  • Hosting provider — application hosting (e.g. Vercel).

These providers process data on our instructions and under their own privacy terms.

6. Public and anonymous content

Reviews, issues, and photos you choose to publish may be visible to other users. Anonymous posts hide your display name from the public but remain attributable to your account for moderation and legal compliance.

7. Retention and deletion

We retain account and contribution data while your account is active. You may delete your account from the Account page, which anonymises your reviews and issues, hides your photos, and removes your auth profile. Some audit logs and legal records may be retained where required by law or for dispute resolution.

8. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you may request access to or correction of personal information we hold about you. Contact legal@realreveal.com.au. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
